Charleston County Coroner Named 2022 Coroner of the Year and Elected President of the South Carolina Coroner’s Association
Charleston County Coroner, Bobbi Jo O’Neal (right), was named the South Carolina Coroner’s Association 2022 Coroner of the Year at their annual conference held last week in North Myrtle Beach.
Coroner O’Neal was also elected by her peers to serve as the President of the South Carolina Coroner’s Association and will serve a two-year term July 2022-June 2024.
Coroner O’Neal also currently served as the President of the International Association of Coroner’s & Medical Examiners (IACME). Her term ends in 2023. “It is an honor to be trusted by my peers to lead the South Carolina Coroner’s Association as we seek to improve medicolegal death investigation services in our state. We speak for those who no longer have a voice and provide much needed information to surviving families. I am also humbled to have been recognized by my peers for the efforts we have made to improve forensic services in Charleston County and our work with neighboring counties,” said Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal.
