BCLS Hosting End of Summer Mini-Teen Lock-In Events for Rising Six to Twelfth Grade Students
Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) will host its End of Summer Mini Lock-In for rising sixth-twelfth grade students (ages 12-18) on Friday, July 29th, at Moncks Corner Library, and Saturday, July 30th, at Goose Creek Library from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. A lock-in is a program where teens are “locked in” the library until the end of the event. If an emergency at either location or both occurs before the end of each event, the doors will be opened.
“A mini-lock-in is a great way for teens to get to know what BCLS has to offer as well as the new Young Adult Librarian,” said Jessica Nuckolls, Young Adult Librarian. “It is also a chance to just hang out and have some fun before the school year begins.”
Teens will choose their activities from a variety of items. Selections include crafts, karaoke and games along with dinner and snacks. The Lock-In Registration Form and Lock-In Consent and Waiver are required to secure a reservation at each hosting library. BCLS will not be able to accept any phone registrations. The following methods will be available for registration:
Download, print and complete Lock-In Registration Form and Lock-In Consent and Waiver and return to hosting library; berkeleylibrarysc.libcal.com/event/9335916 (Moncks Corner Library) berkeleylibrarysc.libcal.com/event/9343970 (Goose Creek Library) or Pick up both forms at either hosting libraries, complete and return.
Both forms with signatures are required to secure a reservation at each hosting library. BCLS will not be able to accept any phone registrations.
Registration for either event is limited to 30 participants. Each library will require parents to sign their child or children in and out of each event.
