Rep. Mace Statement on Her Amendment to Protect Parris Island
Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-01) today issued the following statement on amendment #1111 to the National Defense Authorization Act, which will prohibit the use of Federal funds from being used towards the closure of Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island:“We have been making Marines in Parris Island since 1915, and we have no plans to stop. This amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act ensures the Federal government will be prohibited from using Department of Defense funds to study the closure or to close down this crucial military installation and helps secure the future of Parris Island for years to come.”
The National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) is an annual congressional bill giving guidance on the policies and funding of defense agencies.
