Award-Winning Podcast “And That’s Why We Drink” Coming to The Riviera Theater
Em Schulz and Christine Schiefer are taking their hit podcast, “And That’s Why We Drink,” back on the road, stopping at The Riviera Theater in Charleston on October 29th, 2022.
“Our spring tour was such a blast that we didn’t want it to end, so consider this an encore,” Schiefer said. “We’re visiting some cities we haven’t seen since early 2020 and adding some brand new ones to the mix.”
With over 130 million total lifetime downloads, “And That’s Why We Drink,” (ATWWD) is a weekly comedy podcast where the paranormal and true-crime meet. Launched in February 2017, each new episode is a deep dive into whatever paranormal and true crime stories the hosts are obsessing over that week. The podcast is currently ranked as the #29 Comedy podcast on the Spotify USA podcast chart. In 2019, 2021, and 2022 ATWWD won the People’s Voice “Webby” award for Best Comedy Podcast.
In 2020, the duo hosted two virtual events during COVID lock downs, and donated all net proceeds from the ticket sales to the Marsha P. Johnson Institute, in support of their efforts protecting black trans and gender non-confirming people, especially in the arts. In July 2021, they hosted their first ever Cryptid Poetry Slam virtual live show. All proceeds from the auction were donated to Asian Americans Advancing Justice.
In February 2022, ATWWD marked their 5 year anniversary, and in May 2022 the duo released their debut book “A Haunted Road Atlas,” which became a New York Times bestseller.
Tickets will be available for purchase starting at 10 am on Friday, July 22nd, 2022 at https://www.
