We Are Sharing Hope SC to host Community Health Fair
The first We Are Sharing Hope SC Community Health Fair is being held in August as part of National Multicultural Donor Awareness Month. The goal of the event is to encourage community members to be proactive in their physical and mental health, and access a wide range of health screenings, information, and resources to advance early prevention and detection of health issues.
We Are Sharing Hope SC is the state’s leading provider of organ and tissue donation recovery services. In hosting this Community Health Fair, the organization’s goal is to bring heightened awareness to the donation disparities and needs that exist within multicultural communities, while normalizing the conversation around organ, eye, and tissue donation.
The Community Health Fair will include a number of activities including a food truck, backpack giveaway, free haircuts for the first hour, Visa and Nike gift card raffles, and yoga sessions. Among the resources and screenings at this event, there will be health checks, Covid-19 vaccines, flu shots, mental health services and nutritional information.
The event will be held from 8 am to 12 pm on Saturday, August 13th at 2215 Henry Tecklenburg Drive.
