Rep. Mace on Passage of Four Bills out of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs
Rep. Nancy Mace (SC-01) on Tuesday released the following statement on the passage of four of her bills out of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs:
“South Carolina’s first Congressional district is home to over one third of our state’s veterans. As the daughter of a retired Army General, I know how important it is for our government to take care of our heroes who served. Today, four of my bills passed out of the House Committee on Veterans’ affairs, ensuring our veterans will continue to have access to the resources and support they deserve.”
Background:
After passage out of committee, these bills will head to the house floor for final passage. The bills include:
- H.R. 8260– Faster Payments to Veterans’ Survivors Act- will help ensure surviving dependents of our fallen heroes are able to receive the benefits they deserve.
- H.R. 7299– Strengthening VA Cybersecurity Act- will help secure the VA from cybersecurity threats of the future.
- H.R. 7939– Student Veteran Emergency Relief Act – extends educational benefits and flexibilities for our student veterans in emergency situations.
- H.R. 5776– Serving Our LGBTQ Veterans Act- creates a center within the VA to ensure the VA is able to deal with the unique needs and issues pertaining to the veteran LGBTQ+ community.
