BCLS’s “Give Our Books New Looks” Art Contest Needs Talented Third-Fifth Grade Artists
Berkeley County Library System’s (BCLS) 2022 Summer Reading: Oceans of Possibilities continues to offer third-fifth grade students (or ages 8-11) the opportunity to be entered in the “Give Our Books New Looks” Art Contest and win prizes.
Students may enter by either of the following methods:
- Pick up a template from your BCLS Library, design the cover with markers, paint, crayons, or felt pens (no computer designs). Lastly, take your completed design to your BCLS Library
- Retrieve the template from Give Our Books New Looks website, click on “Submit Artwork,” complete the fields, upload your design, and submit no later than August 31st. One entry per person.
Summer Reading Ends August 1st, so sign up soon! Summer Reading Programs for early literacy, children, teens, and adults can earn prizes in each age group.
“We hope that the Summer Reading Program encourages children to become lifelong readers,” said Sharon Fashion, Youth Services and Summer Reading Program Coordinator. “We also hope to encourage the reluctant readers with the different activities they can do to complete the Summer Reading Program. Most of all we would like it to become a family activity.”
