Few Tickets Remain for 34 West’s Summer Musical, “She Drives Me Crazy”
34 West’s summer musical She Drives Me Crazy has sold out six weeks straight, but there are remaining spots still available through September 17th. Featuring timeless tunes from Céline Dion to Bryan Adams, the theater says this “hilarious rom-com is a loving homage to NBC’s ‘Must-See-TV.'”
“It’s silly and sweet, just like Kramer or Elaine or Monica,” said writer and actor Stephen Wayne. In fact, the troupe affectionately refer to the show as “Friends meets Seinfeld” since it was inspired by a handful of iconic television hits from the 90’s.
“We even nod our heads to a few Meg Ryan classics,” Wayne added.
The story, directed by actor-producer Becca Anderson, follows a group of friends in a local coffee shop as they stalk an eligible bachelor in their building. Chaos ensues, love is found, and everything is wrapped up in a beautiful bow, sort of.
34 West promises your mouth will hurt from smiling.
“It’s a like a fun cocktail party,” Wayne said. “Enjoy a beverage and laugh with friends – What more could you want?!”
Audiences can enjoy a featured champagne cocktail or glass of wine before the performance begins. Writers-actors-owners Wayne and Jeff Querin also serve as barkeeps, interacting with the audience and keeping the atmosphere lively.
“Half the fun of the evening is what happens before the show even starts,” Wayne said.
Located in a former yogurt shop, the theater hosts performances Thursday through Saturday at 8 pm. Tickets are $49. All performances are located at 200 Meeting Street. A parking garage is available on Pinckney Street.
