Poulin | Willey | Anastopoulo (d.b.a. Anastopoulo Law Firm) became one of the first law firms in America to file suit against Lyons Magnus. Lyons issued a massive voluntary recall on Monday, August 1st due to potential microbial contamination, including the bacteria Cronobacter Sakazakii. The recall names 53 Lyons products including milk alternatives, prepackaged coffees, protein shakes, and nutritional beverages. The Foodservice Division at Lyons Magnus markets a wide array of fruit, chocolate, juice, and beverage products under their label and the labels of other distributors.

Cronobacter is the same deadly bacteria that triggered the recent baby formula recall. Poulin | Willey | Anastopoulo filed suit earlier this year against Abbott Laboratories representing consumers injured by contaminated Similac baby food. Cronobacter is usually found in dry foods and sewer water. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said, “Cronobacter infections are often very serious for babies; they can die. Cronobacter infection can also be fatal for older people and people whose bodies have trouble fighting infection, like people with HIV, organ transplants, or cancer.”

“We are once again amazed by the lack of basic food safety measures in the manufacturing process,” said Paul Doolittle, Poulin | Willey’s Director of Class Action & Mass Torts. “We are dedicated to ending these unsafe processes and providing justice for our clients.”

This lawsuit continues a string of consumer protection-based suits filed by Poulin | Willey against major corporations in 2022 including Jif Peanut Butter and Abbott Laboratories.
