Redux Contemporary Art Center sent an e-mail to supporters sharing that they had hired Kate R. Ledbetter (right) as their new Executive Director. She will replace Cara Leepson who announced in May that she was leaving the organization.

You can read the full e-mail from the Redux Board of Directors below:

“Following an extensive search, the Board of Directors of Redux Contemporary Art Center today announced that Kate R. Ledbetter has been selected to become its new Executive Director. Kate will begin August 8. Interim Director Maggie Jordan, who has been instrumental during this transition, will stepdown from her position on August 5.

Kate brings a wealth of experience in the not-for-profit sector, having advanced and promoted local organizations through mission and data driven strategic vision and campaign development. She has been a successful fundraiser, team builder and is committed to serving the arts community. She currently serves as Director of Development for Charleston Collegiate School. Kate has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Historic Preservation from the College of Charleston. Kate has been a longtime community supporter of Redux.

The search for Redux’s next Executive Director was facilitated by the Board of Directors’ Search Committee and attracted numerous applicants from across the country and the Lowcountry. Kate was clearly the right choice to become our next Executive Director. Her incredible energy, development and fundraising experience will be a great asset as we continue promoting contemporary art and emerging artists in the Lowcountry and beyond. We are trilled to have Kate as our new Executive Director and look forward to working with her as we continue to grow Redux’s programming, outreach and artist community.”
