Fetter Health Care Network to Celebrate National Health Center Week

Fetter Health Care Network (Fetter), a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), announced it will be taking part in National Health Center Week, a national celebration for community health centers in the U.S. From August 7th through 13th, Fetter will host special celebrations honoring its patients, community members and staff at locations throughout the Lowcountry.

This week-long nationwide event is presented annually by the National Association of Community Health Centers and the Health Center Advocacy Network. Each day focuses on the services provided and patient groups served by U.S. health centers, intending to raise awareness about the accomplishments and missions of these facilities in the communities they serve.

“We are grateful to use this opportunity to honor our patients, our staff and the important work of community health centers across the country,” said Aretha R. Powers, DHA, CEO of Fetter. “Fetter is proud to be a link in the chain of FQHCs that are making essential services and compassionate care accessible to all.”

Fetter has created a complete schedule of community–based events and initiatives to commemorate each day:

  • Sunday, August 7 – Public Health in Housing Day – Fetter is hosting a family-friendly community event providing food, music, arts and crafts, and school supplies. (Meeting Street Manor | 12 – 4 p.m.)
  • Monday, August 8 – Health Care for the Homeless Day – Fetter is providing medical exams and screenings, as well as hygiene kits, including socks, blankets and toiletries. (Hampstead Mall Park | 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
  • Tuesday, August 9 – Agricultural Worker’s Health Day – Fetter is providing medical services and “Home Goods” packages to migrant workers and families. (Boone Hall Farms | 1 – 3 p.m.)
  • Wednesday, August 10 – Patient Appreciation Day – Fetter is providing health and wellness education and assisting in scheduling appointments. (All Fetter Locations | 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.)
  • Thursday, August 11 – National Health Center Stakeholders Day – Fetter location managers are providing facility tours and distributing lunch boxes for community partners, stakeholders and board members onsite. (All Fetter Locations | 10:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.)
  • Friday, August 12 – Staff Appreciation Day – Fetter is recognizing team members for their assistance to the community. Lunch is provided. (All Fetter Locations | 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.)
  • Saturday, August 13 – Children’s Health Day – Fetter is providing pediatric health education to parents and assisting students with well-child visits, appointment scheduling and immunizations to promote school readiness. (Jerry Zucker Middle School | 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.)
