Folly Beach Mermaids & Mateys Event is Set for September 24th

The inaugural Mermaids & Mateys Event, a weekend full of pirate and mermaid family fun on Folly Beach, is scheduled for Friday, September 23rd and Saturday, September 24th.

Here’s a look at the schedule:

Friday, September 23rd
- Under the Sea Dance
  - 7 pm to 9:30 pm at The Loft at St. James Gate
  - DJ Miketech
  - Pictures with the Folly Beach Mermaid
  - Light appetizers and a complimentary drink upon entrance
  - Tickets are $9 when purchased in advance and $14 at the door
Saturday, September 24th
- Breakfast with Mermaids
  - 9 am to 10 am at Rita’s Seaside Grille
  - Breakfast, photos, gifts, and more, plus a special entrance to the Salty Saturday street closure event that can be accessed with Salty Saturday tickets sold separately
  - There is an $8 reservation fee for a table of 4, $12 for a table of 6, and $16 for a table of 8

- Salty Saturday Mermaids and Mateys Street Closure Event
  - Starts at 10 am
  - Center Street will be closed to traffic
  - The street will be lined with food from Folly’s restaurants
  - 50+ Folly art, craft, and fashion vendors
  - Live bands across several stages
  - A huge kids area will feature games and more
    - Magicians, mermaids, sand crafts, glitter body paint, inflatables
  - Costume contest with prizes
  - Tickets for Salty Saturday are $9 in advance or $14 at the door. Kids 12 and under and Folly residents with valid driver’s licenses are free
