Charleston County’s Consolidated Dispatch Center Reaccredited
The Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials’ (APCO) has reaccredited Charleston County’s Consolidated Dispatch Center (CDC) through their P33 Training Program. This is the departments second reaccreditation for APCO P33. Charleston County was one of 32 agencies nationwide that met the requirements for this certification in 2022.
“This achievement displays our staff’s dedication to creating and maintaining a training program for our department that exceeds 911 industry standards,” said Director of the CDC Jim Lake. “We pride ourselves on providing the highest level of service possible, and this certification demonstrates our commitment to ensuring that our public safety telecommunicators are trained to provide professional service to the public in what is often their greatest time of need.”
This certification recognizes public safety training programs across the nation. To meet the requirements of this national certification, the training program must provide documentation that demonstrates proficiency in lesson plans, training curriculum, class evaluations, supplemental instructional materials, and agency policies and procedures.
