Rusty Bull Brewing Releases First Small Batch Beer at Downtown King Street Location
Rusty Bull Brewing Co. on Tuesday announced a celebration in honor of the first small batch beer produced at its downtown Charleston location. The mango peach guava sour will hit the taps at 5 pm on Tuesday, September 6th at their 337 King Street location.
This event, which will be the first of a series of experimental small batch releases that will continue through the fall, allows customers to sample new Rusty Bull beers before they go into production at their North Charleston facility.
“Growing up in Charleston, it’s pretty awesome to be able to make beer in the historic district on the peninsula,” said Brian Bogstad, Rusty Bull’s co-owner. “We really want to get to know our downtown customers at these regularly scheduled beer release parties. We’re excited to listen to what people have to say about the new concept beers and what kind of beers they want to see on tap.”
The first beer scheduled to be released, King Peachy the Mango-nificent, will be a Mango/Peach/Guava kettle sour with a 4.2% ABV. The brewery says the tartness of the ale will be balanced with the sweetness of the mango and peach while still maintaining the complex sourness of the style.
“We love to experiment with new beer styles and techniques,” said Ben Mayer, the other co-owner of Rusty Bull. “Our first big production beer was a ginger amber ale and people loved it. Adding a more experimental lineup to our traditional brews really gives us a great opportunity to create some fun and funky beer that we think Charleston is going to love.”
