Upcoming Free Community Event Highlights Local Mental Health and Substance Use Disorder Services
The CJCC, or Criminal Justice Coordinating Council, invites the community to their Community Justice Forum on Tuesday, September 13th from 6 pm to 7 pm. The event, “Introduction to the New Teddie E. Pryor, Sr. Social Services Building Spotlight on Mental Health & Substance Use Disorder Services,” is free and open to the community.
The forum features local subject matter experts including:
- Dr. Chanda Funcell, Director, Charleston Center
- Jennifer Roberts, Executive Director, Charleston Dorchester Mental Health Center
County Council Chairman Teddie E. Pryor, Sr. will present the welcome and kick-off the evening. Deborah Blalock, Deputy Director of Community Health Services for the South Carolina Department of Mental Health, will serve as the event moderator.
“It is critical the community is aware of the resources available and where to go when help is needed,” said Lea Ann Adkins, CJCC Co-Vice Chair, Legal Services, One80 Place. “The new social services building will bring multiple resources under one roof to serve the community in a more centralized manner.”
