SC Works Trident to Host Series of Hiring Events This Month

SC Works Trident today announced a series of four hiring events taking place throughout September in honor of Workforce Development Month.

The scheduled events are:

• Disability Expo & Job Fair, Tuesday, September 13th

• Back 2 Work Career Expo, Wednesday, September 14th

• SC Military Community Hiring Event, Wednesday, September 21st

• SC Works Trident Workforce Development Job Fair, Tuesday, September 27th

These workforce-building events will connect jobseekers to employers and community partners in the tri-county region. Each is open to the public, free of charge, though registration is required in some cases.

The SC Works Career Coach, a mobile extension of the statewide SC Works centers, will be on-site at several of these events for jobseekers to utilize for resume updates and job applications.

“A well-trained and supported workforce is crucial to the success of the region’s economy, and ensuring workers have the tools needed for long-term success is our mission at SC Works Trident,” said Workforce Development Director Sharon Goss. “We’re thrilled to offer several events aimed at a range of audiences that will support connections between jobseekers, employers and training providers.”

  • Connect with employers including Roper St. Francis Healthcare, Patriots Point, Thorne and many more at the event, plus learn about resources available via community partners and training providers

• Back 2 Work Career Expo
  • September 14, 2022
  • 10 am – 1 pm
  • Father to Father, Inc., 5675 Woodbine Ave., North Charleston
  • Join SC Works Trident, in partnership with the Department of Social Services, at a hiring event featuring employers from a broad range of industries.

• SC Military Community Hiring Fair
  • September 21, 2022
  • 10 am – 1 pm
  • Trident Technical College – Thornley Campus, 7000 Rivers Ave. Building 920, North Charleston
  • Join this two-part hiring event (virtually all day after 8 am; in-person 10 am – 2 pm) to connect with employers including MUSC, Nucor, Volvo, Robert Bosch, SC Ports Authority, Walmart Distribution, and dozens of others. The SC Works Career Coach will be on-site.

  • 10 am – 1 pm
  • SC Works Charleston
  • 1930 Hanahan Rd. Suite 200, North Charleston
  • Connect with employers from a variety of industries at the SC Works Charleston Center, including MUSC Health, Post & Courier, Lowcountry Hospitality Association, Lowe’s Home Improvement, and many more
  • The SC Works Career Coach will be on-site
