2022 Sweet Tea Festival Takes Over Summerville on September 15th

The 2022 edition of Summerville’s annual Sweet Tea Festival will be held on Saturday, September 17th from 2 pm until 8 pm in Hutchinson Square.

Aside from plenty of sweet tea, this year’s festival will include live music, a street fair, food trucks, a sidewalk sale featuring artisanal vendors, a farmers market, and more.

In addition to the Saturday festival, the town of Summerville will also host several related events from Sunday, September 11th to Friday, September 16th. You can see the schedule below (with descriptions from festival organizers):

  • Sunday, September 11th – Sunday FunDay
    • Take a day and visit local attractions. Stroll through Azalea Park and have a picnic, find hidden rocks painted by your local artist, visit the new Ashley River Park, take family pictures at Colonial Dorchester State Park Historic Site, visit the Public Works Art Center, or take photos with iconic Mason, the world’s largest Sweet Tea!
  • Monday, September 12th – Monday Motivation
    • Monday motivation with Barre and Bubbles. Join a barre class, hosted by Nicole Pridgen in Hutchinson Square at (6:30 pm). When you’re done flexing those muscles, hydrate at one of our amazing restaurants or bars.
  • Tuesday, September 13th – Not your typical Tuesday
    • Visit Summerville is celebrating the Sweetest Week Ever with the ‘hold my sweet tea’ bar crawl! You’ll have the opportunity to enjoy creatively crafted cocktails featuring SWEET TEA. For more details, visit “Visit Summerville” on Facebook.
  • Wednesday, September 14h – Wednesday Wind Down
    • Get a breath of fresh air, ask a co-worker to lunch, and have a lunch break outside in Historic Downtown Summerville area. Try one of the local restaurants or one of the many food trucks that will be available.
  • Thursday, September 15th – Sweetest Third Thursday EVER! (5:30 pm – 8:30 pm)
    • Join us as we celebrate the Sweetest Third Thursday ever. Put on your dancing shoes, bring your favorite people, and celebrate this wonderful community with local artisans, crafters, merchants, and food!
  • Friday, September 16th – Sweetest Shops
    • Sip through our sweetest shops and try local flavors such as ice cream, Sweet Tea candies, coffee, and more!
