Roy T. Willey, IV, Appointed to Plaintiff’s Steering Committee in Infant Formula Recall MDL
Poulin | Willey | Anastopoulo Partner & Trial Lawyer, Roy T. Willey IV, has been appointed to the Plaintiff’s Steering Committee in the Recalled Abbott Infant Formula Products Liability Litigation MDL pending in Chicago, Illinois. This arises out of the contamination at Abbott Laboratories Sturgis, MI plant of cronobacter and salmonella that led to a nationwide recall and infant formula shortage, including President President Biden personally organizing air flights of infant formula from other countries.

In February of this year, the firm filed a nationwide class action complaint against Abbott Laboratories, after the FDA announced it was investigating consumer complaints of Cronobacter sakazakii and Salmonella Newport infections caused by baby formula produced by Abbott. The firm is representing families nationwide whose infants were diagnosed with cronobacter and salmonella after ingesting the contaminated formula. The firm is also representing premature infants diagnosed with NEC and their families.
“This is a case where nothing less than full justice will do, and I am honored to be a part of this talented team charged with fighting for our nation’s babies,” said Roy T. Willey IV.
