The Charleston Place to Honor Queen Elizabeth II with High Tea on September 19th
On Monday of next week, the funeral for Queen Elizabeth II will take place at Westminster Abbey, with an expected 750,000 people traveling to London to pay their respects. For those in Charleston who’d also like to honor the Queen, The Charleston Place will be hosting a special High Tea event on Monday, September 19th at noon. This is the first time the hotel has hosted such an event.
The Crown Tea: A Southern Celebration Fit for a Queen will start at noon on Monday, September 19th in the Thoroughbred Club at The Charleston Place. Attendees can enjoy a traditional afternoon tea with a Southern twist. A selection of sweet and savory treats will be served, along with one complimentary glass of Bollinger Champagne. The Queen herself was an avid fan of Bollinger Champagne and it is reported that she drank a glass each night. The hotel will be celebrating the Queen’s momentous reign by sabering a bottle of her favorite Champagne to kick off this one-of-a-kind celebration.
Limited reservations remain. Tickets are $65 per person, which includes tax and gratuity. For tickets, visit The Charleston Place website.
