Dorchester Seniors, Inc. To Host BBQ In The ‘Ville for Dorchester County Seniors

Dorchester Seniors, Inc., a local nonprofit organization, will hold its first-ever “BBQ In The ‘Ville” fundraising event at the Dorchester Boat Club on Saturday, October 15th. The event, which runs from 4 pm to 7 pm, will include music, games, raffles, BBQ, and s’mores by the Ashley River. The event will be emceed by Rob Fowler of NBC News 2.

While admission is free, meal tickets can be purchased for a BBQ plate ($20) or a hot dog plate ($5).  All proceeds made from BBQ In The ‘Ville will support the programs, services and activities provided by Dorchester Seniors, Inc. 

“This really helps support our operations in areas such as food costs which have increased tremendously” said Dorchester Seniors, Inc. Executive Director Leigh Thomson. “The number of seniors needing services continues to grow and funds from these events make a difference for our seniors,” continued Thomson. 

Tickets can be purchased online (www.dorchesterseniors.com) or in-person at the Faith Sellers Senior Center (312 N Laurel St, Summerville) or the David Sojourner Senior Center (5361 E Jim Bilton Blvd, St George).
