Illumination Charleston Presents Esteemed Line-up of “Design in Mind” Speakers for Illumination Charleston

Historic Charleston Foundation is proud to present the second Illumination Charleston this December with our partners, Explore Charleston and Southern Living. Events will range between December 1st through 4th including designer vignettes at the Aiken-Rhett House Museum, Design in Mind Lecture Series at Second Presbyterian Church and the Southern Living Illumination Holiday Village. 

Historic Charleston Foundation is thrilled to present distinguished designers for four distinct and engaging Design in Mind Lectures. All lectures held at the Second Presbyterian Church.

Speakers include:

  • Ron Woodson and Jaime Rummerfield – Co-Founders of Save Iconic Architecture and Principals of the LA interior design firm Woodson & Rummerfield’s House of Design. SIA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring awareness and action to preserving endangered architectural and significant cultural structures through landmarking, preservation and education.   • Celerie Kemble interviewed by Ceara Donnelley – Celebrated and published author, Celerie has been named to Architectural Digest’s AD100 and Elle Decor’s A-List Designers. Celerie will be joined by fellow Charleston designer, Ceara Donnelley who renovated and designed her 1740 Charleston single house, featured in Veranda Magazine. Celerie and Ceara will engage in an inspiring conversation on December 2, 1 – 2 pm. Purchase tickets online.
  • Mary Celeste Beall and Jason Bell – Mary Celeste Beall is the Proprietor of the acclaimed resort hotels Blackberry Farm and Blackberry Mountain in the Great Smoky Mountains of East Tennessee, working closely with the properties’ Director of Design, Jason Bell. Blackberry Mountain is adding to the brand’s awards with recognitions including ELLE Décor Travel A-List – Best New Hotel, Hideaway Report – Hideaway of the Year, and inclusion in Travel + Leisure’s It List for best new hotels in the world. Mary Celeste and Jason will speak on Saturday, December 3, 10 – 11 am. Purchase tickets online.
  • David Netto – David Netto is a Los Angeles-based interior designer and writer. He has worked as contributing design editor to The Wall Street Journal, T, The New York Times Style Magazine, and now writes the Case Studies column for Town & Country. David Netto Design LLC projects have been published in Vogue, Elle Decor, House Beautiful, AD, House & Garden, and Veranda, as well as several books. David will speak on Saturday, December 3, 1 – 2 pm. Purchase tickets online.
