Charleston Symphony Orchestra League Announces 25th Anniversary of the Symphony Tour of Island Homes

The Charleston Symphony Orchestra League, Inc. (CSOL) is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Symphony Tour of Island Homes on Saturday, November 5th. Event Chair, Sandra Ericksen, invites long-time and new tour goers to join this highly anticipated event.

“We look forward to a day of celebration on Kiawah Island in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Symphony Tour of Island Homes,” Ericksen said. “The homes are as impressive as one would expect on this exclusive island. They showcase the talents of premier designers, architects, builders, and landscapers. The shops of Freshfields Village are partnering with the CSOL to make this day a unique experience concluding with a free concert by the Charleston Symphony. Come join us!”

From 10 am until 3 pm, guests will be treated to music by Symphony musicians and talented music students as they experience the variety of beautifully decorated homes reflecting the interests and lifestyles of their owners. Their day will be capped off at 5 pm with a free Charleston Symphony concert, courtesy of the Town of Kiawah Island Arts and Cultural Events Council in the West Beach Conference Center. 

To mark the 25th Anniversary of the Symphony Tour of Island Homes, the CSOL is hosting a Silver Jubilee Celebration on Friday November 4th, from 5 pm to 7 pm at the Kiawah Island Sandcastle. There will be live music, refreshments and light bites. Wine will be provided by FortyEight – Wine Bar & Kitchen.

Advance tickets for the Tour of Homes are $65 online through November 4th. Tickets may also be purchased at Indigo Books in Freshfields Village or the Kiawah Island Town Hall on Betsy Kerrison Pkwy during normal business hours. Tickets will also be sold on the day of the event on Freshfields Village Green for $70, where guests exchange their tickets for wristbands and programs beginning at 9:30 a.m. 

Tickets for the Silver Jubilee Celebration are $35; and the Charleston Symphony concert is free, courtesy of the Town of Kiawah Island Arts and Cultural Events Council. Separate tickets are required for all events, including the free concert, and are available at www.csolinc.org.

This season, the Charleston Symphony (CSO) displays its deeply local, boldly global approach with a stellar lineup of world-renowned guest conductors and soloists, the introduction of The Project Aurora, a multi-season celebration of music and art born on our very own soil, and the homecoming of CSOL scholarship recipient and Charleston Symphony Youth Orchestra alum Jonathon Heyward.

The CSOL is a multi-talented group of nearly 250 dedicated volunteers whose purpose is to support the CSO, encourage talented young musicians and inspire classical music lovers for generations to come. The CSOL is the largest continuous institutional donor to the CSO. Last year the League provided over $210,000 to the CSO and music scholarships for student and professional musicians in the Charleston area. The annual Symphony Tour of Island Homes on Kiawah Island traditionally kicks off the League’s fall events and fundraising season.  

The 25th Anniversary Symphony Tour of Island Homes is presented by the CSOL and Freshfields Village to benefit the Charleston Symphony and CSOL Music Scholarships for students in the Lowcountry.
