UPDATE: Annual Woofstock Music Festival Being Rescheduled

Published

on

UPDATE on 10/3/21 – This event is being rescheduled. Here is a statement from organizers:

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to reschedule our Woofstock Music Festival, originally scheduled for October 8th. We at Lowcountry Dog Magazine, along with our festival partners, want our events and festivals to be a success for everyone including the rescues, our sponsors, our vendors, and of course our attendees. We are working diligently to find a date that will best serve this festival and its attendees.

If you are a current ticket holder to Woofstock, your ticket will be valid for the new date. If for whatever reason, you cannot make the new date, you can request a refund of your tickets within 30 days of the announcement of the new date. We will be contacting all ticket holders once we have a date and our line-up confirmed.”

Lowcountry Dog Magazine, along with Pet Supplies Plus and David Aylor Law Offices, will host WOOFSTOCK: A Lowcountry Dog Music Festival on Saturday, October 8th at Hanahan Amphitheater. This year’s live music lineup includes the platinum-selling band Lit, American Idol’s Carly Moffa, Kevn Kinney from Drivin N Cryin, Jared Petteys & the Headliners, Kate Vera, and Florida musician Greg West.

Lit first became well known in the late 90s’ post-grunge era with hit singles like “My Own Worst Enemy,” “Miserable,” “Zip-Lock,” and “Lipstick & Bruises.” The band has released seven studio albums, including their RIAA Certified Platinum A Place in the Sun, and their latest album, Tastes Like Gold.

Their aforementioned mega-hit “My Own Worst Enemy” is one of the most recognizable rock hits of the last 20 years and won them a Billboard Music Award for Modern Rock Song of the Year. Their video for “Miserable” featuring Pamela Anderson was one of the top 10 most played songs of 2000. You can watch the music videos for both songs below.

Proceeds from this festival will benefit 10 local rescues and shelters: Dorchester Paws, Berkeley Animal Center, All 4 Paws, Eunoia Rescue, Pet Helpers, Hallie Hill Animal Sanctuary, Carolina Boxer Rescue, Libby & Mace’s Place, Save the Clefts, and Waters Edge Great Dane Rescue.

Besides a day full of live music, the festival includes Lowcountry food trucks, craft vendors, local dog businesses, kid’s activities, and a dog lure course. Leashed, well-behaved dogs are welcome, and attendees are welcome to bring lawn chairs and blankets. Adult beverages will be offered by Tito’s Handmade Vodka, Southern Eagle, and Estuary Brewery.

Tickets for the festival are available at WOOFSTOCK2022.com. Discount advance tickets are currently $35, while admission will be $50 at the gate. Kids 12 and under are free.
