The library will have books available with prices starting at $1 for paperbacks and $4 for hardback books. Items include mysteries, romances, classics, children’s books, local histories, cookbooks, and a variety of non-fiction topics.

“We are excited to be back at the newly renovated Cynthia Graham Hurd/ St. Andrews branch,” said  Nulani Bennett, Operations Manager for Charleston Friends of the Library. “This will be our first time hosting our book sale at this branch since 2019 and what a perfect time to come back! We want to make books affordable and accessible to all parts of Charleston County but also provide you with the opportunity to come into a different branch to see what unique programs and opportunities each branch has to offer!”

Looking for a volunteer opportunity to give back? Volunteer with the CFOL for the Fall Book Sale starting on Thursday, October 12th (for set up). CFOL is also looking for cashiers, floor assistance, and take down help. If interested, visit https://charlestonlibraryfriends.charityproud.org/VolunteerRegistration/Index/3954.

The Cynthia Hurd/St. Andrews Branch Library is located at 1735 N. Woodmere Drive in West Ashley.

The CFOL is a non-profit volunteer organization that raises money through book sales to help fund library services, equipment, training, materials and public programming. The CFOL collects and sorts donated books for resale to raise money.
