Harvest Festival at Johns Island County Park Set for Nov. 5
Charleston County Parks will hold their 2022 Harvest Festival on Saturday, November 5th from 11 am to 5 pm at the Johns Island County Park. The event is known for its showcase of Charleston’s own bluegrass talent, with local bands playing throughout the day.
This year’s entertainment schedule:
- 12 pm: YeeHaw Junction
- 1 pm: Gravel Road
- 2 pm: The Blue Plantation Band
- 3 pm: Watt’s Brothers
- 4 pm: Cane Creek String Band
The Harvest Festival will also have food available for purchase, including barbecue, kettle korn, traditional festival fare, cold beverages, and more. There will also be a crafters’ market, which features a variety of hand-made items from local craft and merchandise vendors.
Families will find activities to keep the kids occupied including hayrides, pumpkin decorating, horse jumps, kids’ fall crafts, and games and books from the Charleston County Public Library. This year’s Harvest Festival will also feature a youth Archery Turkey Day Shoot for ages 8-17! Turkeys will not be harmed in this competition, and the winning archer will take home a frozen turkey. Turkeys are awarded to the male and female competitor with the highest scores. Interested youth competitors can sign up at the event, or just try out the sport for fun from 1 pm to 5 pm. Activities are free with the festival admission fee.
Charleston County Parks has also partnered with Kulture City to offer sensory inclusive accommodations at the event, to help any guest with sensory needs.
Admission to the Harvest Festival is $10 per person. Kids 12 and under and Gold Pass holders are admitted free (Gold Passes are not sold on site). Food and beverages available for additional fees; ID is required for alcohol purchase. Attendees are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for seating purposes. Dogs are welcome but must remain on leash at all times. Outside alcohol and coolers are prohibited.
