The Beach Company announced today that its president and chief executive officer, John Darby (right), was selected by GlobeSt. as a top individual in the outlet’s Influencers in Multifamily Real Estate awards.
Recognizing innovative and progressive developers, investors and brokers working to advance the industry, the GlobeSt. Multifamily Influencer awards will be presented on October 24-25 during the 2022 Multifamily Fall conference held at the JW Marriott Los Angeles L.A. Live.
“Over his 30-year tenure at The Beach Company, John Darby has emerged as a visionary and one of the most respected development partners in the industry,” said Karen Bacot, vice president of marketing at The Beach Company. “John has earned his reputation through successful leadership and the expansion of The Beach Company’s portfolio by adding high-quality multifamily, mixed-use, commercial and industrial options across the Southeastern U.S, that continue to set the standard for projects across the region.”
Under John Darby’s lead, The Beach Company has become an industry leader and has a long history of successful real estate developments, construction projects, acquisitions, sales, and management of commercial and residential properties. With more than 350 employees, The Beach Company is active in more than 20 cities. Darby is responsible for growing the business from 18 to 300 employees over the last 20+ years and for diversifying The Beach Company’s investments, transforming it into a full-service real estate business with a portfolio including residential and resort properties, office buildings, shopping centers, industrial parks and land across the entire Southeast.
Darby additionally launched the firm’s construction company, Gulf Stream Construction, property management company, Beach Management and the company’s first-ever investment fund, Beach Real Estate Funds, which has contributed significantly to the company’s operational expansion and helped diversify its income stream through new investments and acquisitions.
