Callie’s Hot Biscuits Owner to Hold Cooking Fundraiser for Local Nonprofit
The Junior League of Charleston (JLC) will host “Cooking for a Cause” with Callie’s Hot Little Biscuits owner, Cary Morey, on November 6th in the Camden room at the Charleston Visitors Center. The event will run from 6 pm to 8 pm.
Tickets include dinner, drinks, and a cooking demonstration from Carrie for $175. VIP tickets offer a 30-minute meet and greet with Carrie, a signature cocktail, priority seating at the event, a copy of Carrie and the Junior League’s cookbooks for $275. At the event, Morey will bake her famous biscuits, as well as her spin on southern classics featuring recipes from her newest cookbook, Hot Little Suppers and Junior League of Charleston’s classic cookbook, Charleston Receipt Repeats.
Proceeds from the event will support the mission of the Junior League of Charleston of promoting voluntarism, developing potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers
Carrie founded her handmade biscuit business in 2005 with the goal of making the made-by-hand biscuits of her mother accessible across the country. Today, Callie’s Hot Little Biscuit is widely recognized as an iconic Southern brand and a prominent fixture in the ‘New South’ food movement.
