Bill Murray Briefly Appears in Trailer for Latest Marvel Movie
Actor and Charleston resident Bill Murray is briefly shown in the first official trailer for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. You can see the trailer below.
The trailer for the third Ant-Man film also includes Paul Rudd (Scott Lang/Ant-Man), Evangeline Lilly (Hope van Dyne/The Wasp), Michelle Pfeiffer (Janet Van Dyne), Michael Douglas (Dr. Hank Pym), Jonathan Majors (Kang the Conqueror), and Kathryn Newton (Cassie Lang). The movie will debut in theaters on February 17th, 2023.
Murray’s role has yet to be officially announced.
The wildly popular actor, who residents and visitors alike frequently say they hope to see around town, has seen his fun-loving persona take a hit over the last few weeks due to allegations from actors, producers, and writers about his alleged verbal and physical abuse and inappropriate behavior toward them. The rash of accusations came out after Puck reported that Murray paid a $100,000 settlement to a “much younger” female crew member on the film Being Mortal. Production on the film was suspended due to a complaint made against Murray for inappropriate behavior. The report alleged that Murray, 72, kissed and straddled the woman on set. She was allegedly “horrified,” “interpreted his actions as entirely sexual,” and filed a complaint against the actor.
Murray addressed the Being Mortal allegations in an April interview with CNBC.
“I did something I thought was funny, and it wasn’t taken that way,” he said. “The company, the movie studio, wanted to do the right thing, so they wanted to check it all out, investigate it, and so they stopped the production. But as of now, we’re talking and we’re trying to make peace with each other. I think that’s where the real issue is, between our peace. We’re both professionals. We like each other’s work. We like each other, I think, and if you can’t really get along and trust each other, there’s no point in going further working together or making a movie as well.”
