CofC Concert of Opera and Musical Theatre Scenes, Nov 11 & 12
The College of Charleston Opera program in the College’s Department of Music trains the next generation of opera artists and is proud to showcase their talents in a concert of opera scenes and musical favorites. Directed by voice faculty members Saundra DeAthos-Meers and Amanda Castellone, the performance, “What If,” challenges both the audience and performers to think how the “butterfly effect” can influence a character’s life: what if a different choice had been made? “What If” gives the College’s voice students an opportunity to answer this question through music and drama works by Strauss, Rossini, Bizet, Rodgers and Hammerstein and others.
The concert takes place Friday, November 11th at 7 pm and Saturday, November 12th at 2 pm and 5:30 pm, in the Chapel Theatre (172 Calhoun St.). General admission is $20; discounted $10 admission for CofC students; and $15 for CofC faculty and staff. Patrons can find info and ticket links at go.cofc.edu/music-ensembles
