South Carolina Is 2022’s 9th Least Safe State in America – WalletHub Study
WalletHub recently released its study on 2022’s Safest States in America, and South Carolina ranked as being the 9th least safe state.
In order to determine the most secure states, WalletHub compared the 50 states across 53 key metrics. The data set ranges from the percentage of residents who are fully vaccinated to assaults per capita and the unemployment rate.
Safety in South Carolina (1=Safest; 25=Avg.):
- 37th – Percentage of Residents Who Are Fully Vaccinated Against COVID-19
- 46th – Murders & Non-Negligent Manslaughters per Capita
- 45th – Assaults per Capita
- 34th – Loss Amounts from Climate Disasters per Capita
- 39th – Job Security
- 38th – Fatal Occupational Injuries per 100,000 Full-Time Workers
- 50th – Fatalities per 100 Million Vehicle Miles of Travel
- 30th – Law-Enforcement Employees per Capita
- 32nd – Bullying Incidence Rate
- 28th – Sex Offenders per Capita
- 39th – Share of Uninsured Population
