Palmetto City Ballet Presents “The Nutcracker” in December

This December, Palmetto City Ballet will bring to life an all-new version of  “The Nutcracker.” The company says this classic tale will have an original twist with a dash of Lowcountry inspiration.

The story follows a young orphan girl, Clara, through an unimaginable adventure where her journey is filled with menacing shadows, dancing snowflakes, delicious gumdrops, and a glorious town marketplace. She calls on the help of her heroic Nutcracker and, of course, the magic of the Sugar Plum Fairy to make her holiday wish come true.

New sets and costumes will light up the stage along with over 100 children from the Greater Charleston community to share their talents with the renowned professional artists of Palmetto City Ballet. 

Here’s a look at the performance schedule:

• December 16th at 7pm
• December 17th at 1 pm and 7 pm
• December 18th at 3 pm

All performances will take place at the Sottile Theatre at the College of Charleston.
