Gaillard Center Announces New Spiegeltent Performances from Sandra Bernhard and The Gritty Glitter Burlesque Show

The Gaillard Center today announced two additional performances inside the Spiegeltent, a 2,000-piece “mirror tent” in the heart of downtown Charleston for a month of performances and holiday celebrations. Sandra Bernhard (right) will perform at the Gaillard Center on December 13th, while a fourth Gritty Glitter Burlesque Show featuring Princess Wendy has been added on December 22nd. Tickets for each go on sale Friday, November 4th at 11 am at gaillardcenter.org. 

Bernhard is an actress, singer, performer. and author who is now co-starring on season eleven of the popular FX Television/Ryan Murphy series American Horror Story – this latest installation is called American Horror Story NYC. She has also appeared as a series regular in season three of the FX Television/Murphy show Pose.  Her past television credits include Two Broke Girls, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Broad City, Difficult People, You’re the Worst, The New Adventures of Old Christine, Will & Grace, The Sopranos, The Larry Sanders Show, and Roseanne.

Bernhard is also currently in her seventh year hosting her weekly radio show Sandyland on SiriusXM’s Radio Andy channel 102, for which she won a broadcasting Gracie Award. A pioneer of the one-woman show, Bernhard brings a unique and raucous mix of cabaret, stand-up, rock-n-roll, and social commentary to her live stage performances. Just before the pandemic, she celebrated the 10 year anniversary of her iconic annual holiday shows at Joe’s Pub in New York City, while she also continues to tour throughout the country and overseas.

The Gritty Glitter Burlesque Show promises an evening of comedy, burlesque, and ‘sexy circus’ hosted by the sassy, wine drinking partier, Princess Wendy (above right). The show is for mature audiences, 18 years or older.
