Gov. Henry McMaster Suspends Marion County Councilman Oscar Jay Foxworth
After receiving the indictment of Marion County Councilman Oscar Jay Foxworth, Governor Henry McMaster today issued Executive Order 2022-34, suspending Foxworth from office. The order states that Foxworth has been charged with one count of fraudulently obtaining receiving goods or services.
Foxworth is suspended until such a time as he is formally acquitted, convicted, or until a duly elected successor is qualified and takes the oath of office.
