Dateline NBC Announces “Murder & Magnolias” Podcast About Ex-Charleston Banker’s Murder-For-Hire Plot

Dateline NBC today announced the upcoming release of Murder & Magnolias, a new podcast hosted by Keith Morrison. The six-episode series will cover an ex-Charleston banker’s murder-for-hire plot that first made headlines in 2013. 

Here is how Dateline describes the podcast:

“They were the very picture of a perfect couple in the land of Spanish moss and sweet magnolias. But when a hit man targets one of them, a story of betrayal and murderous intent unfolds. In Dateline’s latest podcast, Keith Morrison takes us to the Low Country of South Carolina to tell the twisted tale.”

Dateline previously covered this story for television in a 2014 episode called “The Charleston Affair.”

In 2013, Chris Latham, a wealthy Charleston banker, and his wife, Nancy (Cannon), were going through a bitter divorce that took a very dark turn. One week before their divorce hearing, authorities encountered an ex-con who claimed he had been hired to kill someone. Things only got stranger from there.
