Storm-Related Operations to Continue Overnight and Until Nicole Has Passed

With local impacts from Tropical Storm Nicole expected to continue through midday tomorrow, representatives of the city’s Emergency Management, Police, Fire, Stormwater, Public Services and Transportation departments will remain on emergency operations duty overnight and until the storm has passed.

“Based on the current forecast, this emergency management activation is largely precautionary,” said Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg. “However, we want to make sure we’re prepared to act, and act quickly, if any serious issues should develop over the next 12 to 24 hours.”
