City of Charleston Unveils Plans for Future Hope Center
Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg, Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie, and Mayors’ Commission on Homelessness and Affordable Housing Chair Robert Clement today unveiled plans for the future Hope Center at the site of its future home – 9 Cunnington Avenue.
The renderings (above right) of the new Hope Center were unveiled and the donors who have contributed to the Hope Center Campaign were recognized. So far, roughly $4.6 million has been raised. The goal is to reach $7 million.
Once built, the Hope Center will house a network of service providers and caseworkers connecting homeless and at-risk individuals and families with every service they need to emerge from their housing crises — including showers and laundry facilities, food assistance, health care, and more.
