Press Release

I Serve With Joy announces their Secured Hands initiative slated to supply non-medical servsafe gloves to support the philanthropic efforts of those feeding communities in need for the holidays.

I Serve With Joy is a local 501(c)(3) organization, created in 2016, with the purpose and mission to serve the homeless community, at-risk youth and single-parent families in the greater Charleston area. In honor of their commitment to meet the community where the need is the greatest, I Serve With Joy’s Secured Hands initiative has developed a collaborative goal of raising funds for high-grade, non-medical, servsafe gloves for organizations, churches, soup kitchens and community outreach groups who are serving meals to the less fortunate this Holiday season.

“With the rise of food costs, gas prices and inflation, many charitable organizations have had to cut down on supplies and find less efficient ways to keep community efforts afloat,” says I Serve With Joy’s Executive Director Joy Campbell. “Their depleted funds and long wish lists has caused them to default to unsustainable measures of borrowing and even washing used gloves just to make ends meet.”

As a nonprofit broker providing local charities with supplies and assistance, I Serve With Joy seeks to protect the safety of food-related community initiatives throughout the Lowcountry and organizations have been responding. I Serve With Joy recently launched a pre-initiative for Secured Hands, with help from Onyx Logistics LLC, and over eight pallets of gloves were given away in less than six hours. Supply outweighed demand reinforcing the significance and magnitude of this critical need.

In hopes that community efforts are not stifled by the loss of resources, I Serve With Joy is asking businesses to sponsor four boxes of gloves for $100 and individuals to contribute $25 or more toward a box by December 10, 2022.

Partners who are helping to make this initiative possible include Mike Hostilo Law Firm, Crosstown Carpet Care, Bombas Socks, Eurika Designs, Renee Moore Beauty Bar, Polish Salon, Kendra Scott, Park Circle Cares and Brown CJ’s Barbershop, Media Consulting Group.
