Dorchester County to Celebrate 125 Years of Service

This year marks the 125th anniversary of Dorchester County’s establishment. Residents are invited to celebrate this milestone on Saturday, December 10th, 2022, from 11 am – 1 pm at the Ashley River Park (200 Renken Road, Summerville). Admission to Ashley River Park is $2 per person. You can also get FREE admission for one vehicle if you bring a new toy to donate for the Do More Christmas Toy Drive.
Scheduled events include meet-and-greets with SC Stingrays mascot, “Cool Ray,” and Summerville High School mascot, “Tuffy,” a performance from the Gregg Middle School Steel Drum Band, and kids’ activities. Free hot dogs, hamburgers, cookies, and birthday cake will be served to celebrate the County’s 125th birthday!
Representatives from the Dorchester Heritage Center, Dorchester County Career and Technology Center, and the Rosenwald School will also be in attendance to provide information and answer any questions visitors may have.
