Charleston Climate Coalition to Host an Evening of “TED-esque” Talks
On Friday, December 9th, the Charleston Climate Coalition (CCC) will host “The Surge Sessions 2022,” an evening of TED-esque talks and sessions from local climate experts and future thinkers. The event kicks off at 7 pm at The American Theater (446 King Street).
Organizations said the evening will “provide an opportunity to learn more about the Lowcountry’s bold climate-conscious future and hear from those working to build new solutions and fresh ways of being with the world.”
CCC announced the following slate of speakers and participants:
Yogi Alex Seaman
Harold Singletary of Brightman Farms
Keith Bowers of Biohabitats
Rebecca Fanning of Community Hydrology
Dr. Merrie Koester of the University of South Carolina’s Center for Science Education
Joshua Robinson of Robinson Design Engineers
Dr. Jen Wright and Belvin Olasov of the Charleston Climate Coalition
The Surge Sessions 2022 will also serve as a release party for Surge: The Lowcountry Climate Magazine – Issue 3. The magazine aims to connect readers with “the fight for climate liberation by educating and energizing, processing the deeper lessons of the climate crisis, and sparking the climate activist that lies within.” Individuals will be able to pick up a copy of the magazine at the event.
