Dingle is a Sullivan’s Island native and Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Broker with expertise in land and investment properties. As a local, he brings industry knowledge to the organization and will be an invaluable asset in East Cooper Habitat’s understanding of the local real estate market and in the search for buildable land. When he is not spending time with his wife and two talented kids, James is also a working on his digital startup, CityGab, Inc.
When appointed to the East Cooper Habitat Board of Directors in November 2022, James shared that being a member of the organization will help him be more well-rounded in his personal and professional life and help him become more involved in the community. He is looking forward to understanding the mission and purpose of East Cooper Habitat up close and to be influential in directing the organization by learning in particular from those we help and serve.
East Cooper Habitat for Humanity (ECHFH) assists families by building safe, well-constructed homes. Working in partnership with low-income families, ECHFH utilizes volunteer labor and donated funds to provide a “hand up”, not a “hand out”. Homeowners are chosen based on their need, demonstrated ability to handle personal finances and their willingness to contribute at least 350 hours of “sweat equity” on their home. Upon completion, Habitat homes are purchased by the homeowner with monthly payments under an affordable mortgage, and those payments are directed toward future homebuilding efforts as received.
East Cooper Habitat for Humanity is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, servicing communities east of the Cooper River in Charleston County and select areas of Berkeley County in South Carolina. Visit their website at www.eastcooperhabitat.org for information on the organization.
