The recently reopened Edwin S. Taylor Folly Beach Fishing Pier will close for an estimated two-week timeframe starting on Monday, January 23rd in order to make renovations to the pier parking lot. During this time, the parking lot along with the pier, restrooms, showers, gift shop, beach access, and Pier 101 restaurant will be closed.

The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission says the closures are expected to last for two weeks, with the pier, parking lot, and other amenities reopening on Saturday, Februrary 4th. For updates on the reopening date, visit ccprc.com/follypier.

During the project, the pier’s parking lot will be resurfaced and improvements will be made including the installation of new lighting fixtures and line restriping. The entrance and exit lanes to the building will be closed for renovations at this time as well.

The Charleston County Park and Recreation Commission has scheduled an official dedication ceremony for the pier on Wednesday, March 1st.

Following a two-year reconstruction process, the new Folly Beach Pier opened to the public on December 26th, 2022. The new 1049-foot-long pier features concrete pilings and substructure, with a wooden walkway and railings. The closure for the parking lot renovation is the final stage of the pier reconstruction project and the facility is expected to remain open daily after the completion of the lot.
