Taylor Music Group Announces “Vivat Regina: A Choral Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II”
The Taylor Music Group (TMG) today announced the presentation of its third program of the 2022-2023 season: “Vivat Regina: A Choral Tribute to Queen Elizabeth II,” performed by the Taylor Festival Choir (TFC). Music performed will stem from Queen Elizabeth’s Coronation, Wedding, Funeral, and Jubilee celebrations.
“I doubt there is a community in North America that loves British choral music more than Charleston,” said Robert Taylor, Founding Conductor of TFC. “Many of the great British choral masterworks loved the world over were performed for Queen Elizabeth II or in many cases, composed in her honor. Furthermore, nationality and political viewpoints aside, few would argue that Her Royal Highness embodied class, dignity, steadfastness, and integrity throughout her historically long reign. Mary and I are certainly huge admirers. I am enjoying one of her biographies now. And oh–Crown fans–don’t believe everything on Netflix!”
Tickets for the concert can be purchased at www.taylormusicgroup.org, or at the door. There will be pre-concert talks on the role of music in Her Royal Highness’s historic reign.
