Experience Hawaiian Culture and History with BCLS in January

Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) invites ages 12 and older to participate in a FREE Intro to Hula Class on Saturday, January 28th from 10 am to 11:30 am at Goose Creek Library located at 325 Old Moncks Corner Road, Goose Creek.

The instructor will be Shantel Rasure, member of Pu’uwai Ho’ ‘āno ‘O Leikela Group, a hula group in the Charleston area.  Customers will learn about the Hawaiian culture and history, hula dance, have fun, and perform!

Registration is required at berkeleylibrarysc.libcal.com/event/9759542.  Seating is limited.

“We bring hula to the Lowcountry,” said Shantel Rasure, Instructor of Intro to Hula Class. “Come and experience dancers sharing their love of the Hawaiian culture through song and Polynesian dance.  Learn some moves you can show off at your next lua. This class in for anyone from beginner dancers to experienced choreographers, recommending ages 12 and older.  The class takes 60-75 minutes.  We stretch, learn a song and dance our hearts out!”
