Entrepreneur Centers 4 Youth (EC Youth) will host a Talent Showcase: Visual & Performing Arts event on Sunday, January 29, 2023 starting at 2 pm in the Burke High School Auditorium (244 President Street, Charleston, SC 29403). Youth ages 7-17 are invited to register to compete in the categories of music, stand-up comedy, poetry, dance, and still art.

The event will feature talent performances, speakers, vendors, food trucks, and giveaways. Talent contest winners will be awarded with cash prizes of up to $300. A suggested donation of $7 in advance and $10 on the day of the event can be given on Eventbrite under Talent Showcase: Visual & Performing Arts or on the website at bit.ly/ecyouth. Youth can register to enter the talent contest at the link provided on the Eventbrite page by January 27, 2023.

The emcee will be Dimitri of Poor Rich Kidzz. The event will include speakers from entities, such as The Distinguished Gentlemen’s Club of Lowcountry Youth Services, Charleston County Consolidated 9-1-1 Center, Krystal Klear Productions, Doors to Dream, CCSD District 20 Principal Collaboration Program (D20PCP), American Red Cross, EC Youth, LLC, L.E.E.L. Nonprofit Youth Financial Literacy Program, and more. Topics will be centered on mentorship, education, entrepreneurship, marketing, mentorship, financial literacy, and more.

Donation proceeds will go toward EC Youth programs and scholarships. Sponsors, vendors, and food trucks are still being accepted. For COVID-19 protocol, masks are recommended.

EC Youth usually holds entrepreneur and financial literacy events in January, June, and October with speakers who educate attendees on starting a business, strategic planning, law, marketing, accounting, banking, money management, politics, and other business sectors. The organization also has a Learn Earn, Earn Learn (L.E.E.L.) Program that allows youth participants to earn stipends made possible through sponsors and grants for attending school, meeting with their mentors and tutors, volunteering, and working on their portfolio for planning for their future. The EC Youth theme is Education + Entrepreneurship = Dreams Come True.

Entrepreneur Centers 4 Youth (EC Youth) was established to expose youth ages 17 and younger to entrepreneurship. Its mission is building youth entrepreneurs and entrepreneur centers, too. Each youth is their own center. Youth are taught the tools of entrepreneurship, which are education, volunteering, mentoring, tutoring, apprenticeships, vending, scholarships, and more, and how to use them. EC Youth has an ultimate goal of educating youth about financial literacy.
