The Lowcountry Graduate Center welcomes Jessica Carter, Ph.D. (right), an experienced professional with a broad skill set encompassing decades of work in a wide variety of fields. Carter joins the LGC with a record of success as a business owner, published author and seasoned educator and trainer. Her accomplishments include organizational development, relationship development, and communications planning and implementation. Graduating from Park University with a B.S. in Clinical Psychology, Carter subsequently earned her MBA from Angelo State University and her doctoral degree in organizational leadership from Trident University International. The Lowcountry Graduate Center is a state-funded organization dedicated to promoting graduate-level education and professional development at the College of Charleston, The Citadel and the Medical University of South Carolina in order to augment the talent of the region’s workforce, contributing to the economic vitality and wellness of the community. Its goal is to enable working professionals to grow their careers right here in the greater Charleston area.

Recognizing that an educated populace is key to workforce development, economic growth and community vitality, the LGC collaborates with business development teams both locally and around the state — as well as leading area employers — to connect member institutions with employers that rely on graduates of their programs.  The LGC also works to identify workforce needs so that programs can be developed to address those gaps in workforce talent.
