The Refinery today announced that their 2023 concert season will kick off with a top-tier lineup of performers and festivals. Located on Charleston’s upper peninsula at 1640 Meeting Street, The Refinery’s outdoor music amphitheater anchors the mixed-use retail, office, and event space.

Here’s a look at the upcoming schedule:

Sam Grisman Project presents the music of Garcia/Grisman – March 3rd

Bassist Sam Grisman, son of legendary mandolinist David Grisman, has formed a new band to honor the musical legacy his father created with dear friend Jerry Garcia. By melding selections from Grisman and Garcia’s beloved repertoire with new original music, The Grisman Project aims to show the impact that Grisman and Garcia’s music has had on their individual voices. Tickets can be purchased HERE.

Drifter Fest: Bert Griggs Memorial Jam – March 31st and April 1st

The third annual Drifter Fest will celebrate the life of the late Bert Griggs. The Refinery is excited for a weekend of events complete with performances from legendary bassist George Porter Jr. and The Runnin’ Pardners, Southern rock band Tishamingo, and supporting acts Gavin Hamilton and Friends featuring Wallace Mullinax, Broken Speakers and Just Groove. Local food, beverages and other fun vendors will be on site throughout the weekend. A portion of proceeds from Drifter Fest will benefit Carolina Studios, a nonprofit fostering creative, educational and career-focused initiatives for students through music, technology and media arts. Tickets can be purchased HERE.

Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real – April 9th

One of the finest, in-demand rock ‘n’ roll ensembles working today, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real are bringing their powerful, joyous live show to Charleston. The show promises well-known POTR hits alongside new favorites from their widely acclaimed 2021 studio album, A Few Stars Apart, like standout singles “Perennial Bloom (Back To You)” and “Wildest Dreams.” Tickets can be purchased HERE.
