Intro to Hula Returning to Goose Creek Library on Saturday
Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) invites ages 12 and older to return to a FREE Intro to Hula Class on Saturday, February 18th, from 10 am to 11:30 am at Goose Creek Library (325 Old Moncks Corner Road).
The instructor will be Shantel Rasure, member of Pu’uwai Ho’ ‘āno ‘O Leikela Group, a hula group in the Charleston area. Attendees will learn about the Hawaiian culture and history, hula dance, have fun, and perform. Registration is required at berkeleylibrarysc.libcal.com/event/9759542. Seating is limited.
“We bring hula to the Lowcountry,” Rasure said. “Come and experience dancers sharing their love of the Hawaiian culture through song and Polynesian dance. Learn some moves you can show off at your next lua. This class in for anyone from beginner dancers to experienced choreographers, recommending ages 12 and older. The class takes 60-75 minutes. We stretch, learn a song and dance our hearts out!
