Rutledge Cab Company Celebrates 10 Years on The Peninsula

Downtown restaurant Rutledge Cab Company, which first opened its doors in February 2013, is celebrating its 10th anniversary of serving the community in the city’s Wagener Terrace neighborhood. The restaurant is led by co-owners Brad Creger, Bill Murray, and Mike Veeck.

In late 2011, the trio said they became fascinated with the vacant gas station Rutledge Cab Company is now based out of. The team said the location’s proximity to Interstate 26 and the intersection of Morrison Street, Meeting Street, and King Street, along with ample parking spaces, were significant factors in their decision to move forward with the project.

“Our focus from day one has been to welcome each guest like family, serve great food, provide the best service and do it at a reasonable price,” said Veeck.

Bill Murray, the restaurant’s CFO (Chief Fun Officer), insisted the experience had to be “a good time.”

Over the years, Rutledge Cab Company burgers have been voted “Best in Charleston” by several media outlets.

“We’ve sold over a half million burgers,” Creger said. “That’s a hard number to get your head around. While we embrace the burger, our regulars also hold our Ruben, BLT, and salads in high esteem.”

Rutledge Cab Company will be introducing its spring 2023 menu later this month, which they say will feature some exciting new entrees along with updated starters and salads.
