Moonlight Ale Announces Annual “Ale Trail” St. Patrick’s Day Shows
Charleston-based Irish folk band Moonlight Ale is set to embark on the “Ale Trail,” its yearly March tour of the Charleston area. The band will appear at five events over St. Patrick’s Day weekend, performing its signature blend of Irish and American music.
Featuring Jimmy McElligot (guitar/vocals), Patrick Brown (percussion), Chuck Hamilton (bass/vocals), Sinead Farrelly (tin whistle/accordion), and George Stevens (mandolin/vocals), Moonlight Ale’s sets are packed with upbeat anthems, pint-swaying ballads, and Irish trad tunes that make for a memorable St. Paddy’s Day experience.
Last year, the band released the single “Banned for Life,” which the Charleston City Paper called “damned catchy … traditional Irish folk (blended) with Americana and just a bit of ragged punk intensity.”
