Open Registration Beginning March 11 for Garden and Grow Series
Berkeley County Library System (BCLS) will co-host Garden and Grow: Plants for Pollinators with Christopher Burtt, Cooperative Extension Area Horticulture Agent, for Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester Counties, on Saturday, March 25th, from 11 am to 12 pm. The event will take place at Goose Creek Library, located at 325 Old Moncks Corner Rd., Goose Creek.
Burtt, who is a Cooperative Extension Area Horticulture Agent, will discuss best practices for our spring gardening climate and pollinator plants to assist our Lowcountry pollinators. He has worked with Clemson University for over five years with previous experience in nursery and landscaping. He coordinates the Tri-County Master Gardener program and assists homeowners and Nurseries with technical support.
“A sign of a healthy garden is having plenty of activity, especially that of Pollinators,” said Christopher Burtt, Clemson University Cooperative Extension Area Horticulture Agent. “Pollinators are any wildlife that specifically interact with the plants in the garden to aid in pollination of flowers. This means, if we want more pollinators, we need more flowers. This will be a discussion on the best practices and some of the best plants to include to create a healthy, vibrant ecosystem in your own garden.”
